Naturally Knotty Farms

Welcome to NKFarms

We are a 2nd Generation Family Farm.  This land was purchased in 1970 by Keith & Nancy Scarborough.  Together with their 2 boys, they built a home, raised beef cattle & managed cash crop.

The Farm was handed down in 2020 to the eldest son Bob, his wife Andrea & their children.

Taking inspiration from the Biggest Little Farm, we have some pretty big dreams for our 100 acres.  We wish to return to traditional methods of growing food.

Agroforestry, intercropping, crop rotation, cover cropping, traditional organic composting and integrated crop-animal farming are prominent traditional agricultural practices. These traditional practices are advocated as the model practices for climate-smart approach in agriculture.

We do not use chemicals on this land for any reason.  We clean naturally, grow naturally, deter pests naturally & control weeds naturally.  Nutrient-dense foods can only grow from nutrient-dense soils.  You can taste the difference when you bite into a slice of our melons, cucumbers, tomatoes and fresh herbs.

In the coming years, as this farm grows, we will add some livestock, improve our pond, plant fruit trees and invite the community to participate and learn how to grow rich, healthy food.
