Learn to make Jams or Jellies

(1 customer review)

I will supply all the ingredients, tools and instructions to make 1 batch of homemade jam or jelly.  All recipes use simple ingredients (no chemicals or preservatives) to create clean, healthy food for your family.

Choose from your favourite type of jam: (see below)

Making your own  homemade jam is a great place to start you canning journey.  The recipes are simple and the process is usually pretty quick (approximately 2 hours, including clean up).

There are many benefits to making your own jam & jellies;

  1. You know every single ingredient that goes into the jam or jelly.  You have them in your kitchen and use them all the time – fruit, sugar, pectin and, depending on the jelly maybe apple cider vinegar.
  2. When done properly, these jars can be stored in a cool, dark spot for up to 18 months without spoiling.
  3. They make excellent homemade gifts or additions to a charcuterie board that will impress your friends & family.
  4. The price of groceries is beyond ridiculous and the supply chain is uncertain.  It’s cheaper to buy local, in-season fruit and make your own.

All my recipes use only simple ingredients and I choose local as much as possible.

Jam/Jelly options:

  • Carrot Cake Jam – a delightful addition to your english muffin in the morning.  Tastes just like carrot cake.
  • Jalapeño Jelly – This is not spicy.  The cooking process cuts the heat and creates a lovely jelly that is incredible on triscuts with a bit of cream cheese.
  • Honey Lemon Jelly – as a mazing as this is on toast, it is even better used as a sweetener in a cup of tea.
  • Berry Jam – Choose from Raspberry, Blueberry, Strawberry.  This is your standard homemade jam that Grandma made.

Each batch of jam is slightly different, but yields approximately 6 250ml jars of jam.  Once the process is complete, they are shelf stable for up to 18 months (but they won’t last that long, they are so good).

When you complete your purchase, I will email you a link to schedule your Jam/Jelly Session.

I am located on Stephen’s Bay Road, Bracebridge, Ontario.

I just signed up for a canning course with Andrea and thoroughly enjoyed my time making homemade Raspberry Jam with her. Andrea is very skilled at canning and she walked me through the proper steps in making jam from ensuring your jars, lids & rings are properly sanitized, measuring of ingredients and how to safely use a water bath canner. Her welcoming and friendly approach provided lots of opportunities to ask questions. She has lots of great tips to ensure your Jam is delicious. I absolutely loved her country kitchen. Her kitchen is very clean and sanitary which is really important. I walked away with 6 jars of Raspberry Jam which is delicious. Andrea does sell some of her homemade preserves and I am anxious to give them a try and provide feedback.
Thank you again Andrea for a truly enjoyable morning.
